The volunteers of lieutenant-colonel Poulus. ‘Their spirit is carried by fanaticism to free Greece from communist gangs’, according to the original caption. The fascist militia of Poulus was armed with a variety of small arms, as this picture proves. On the left are two Greek Mannlicher-Schonauers Model 1903/14 (a rifle and a carbine), while someone in the back-ground holds an Italian Breda light machine gun.
